My thirty year old portable sucker burned out its brushes and started screaming. My wife hated that hands and knees vacuuming method anyway, and BAGS? Fugedaboudit! So we looked for something that would clean our rugs and its contents could be neatly dumped into the trash. Oh yeah, and we wanted to do our vacuuming standing up. This thing is strong and light. It has a long cord that winds up neatly on the two opposing hooks under the comfortable handle And best of all... It is light so we don't fatigue when working with it.
The red Dirt Devil Power stick is easy to hang in a broom closet taking up very little space. It is great if you live in a small apartment, but it is super powerful and sucks up all the grit that gets in my big wool area rugs. My rugs look great after a session with the Dirt Devil.

Just got this and am glad I didn't listen to any of the complaints because it is great. The sound is 12 amps of power at work and it is absolutely no problem.
We have ceramic tile in the kitchen and bathrooms and wood in the rest of the house. The minute I got it I vacuumed the kitchen floor which looked clean and the Dirt Devil found more stuff to pick up. It has a clear canister so you can see right away what it is doing. It also has a Hepa filter to keep down the dust.. Excellent product. Reasonably priced

Bought this with the hopes of quick cleaning. It barely sucks up a fuzz on the carpet. It's insanely loud. . . I brought earplugs from work to wear when I do use this and I make my son go into a different room so he doesn't go prematurely deaf. It has an exhaust that blows dust and pet hair all over the place making it impossible to catch it with the vacuum. It feels like it should have this amazing capability but I can go over the same spot 5 times and it barely vacuums anything. A complete waste of money!!!
